At Cyberwaka Training Academy, training of students is based on the kaupapa that we can provide ‘industry strength’ training along with core generics and computing generics in an atmosphere of tikanga Maori.

Cyberwaka Training Academy (A Cisco Local Network Academy) run by Te Runanga o Te Whanau is accredited as a Private Training Establishment with the Tertiary Education Commission, NZQA and the ETITO (Electrical Trades Industry Training Organisation).

We deliver ICT industry certifications; most of the Cisco Academy programs offered by Cyberwaka are now accredited by NZQA.

Cyberwaka is delivering several industry based computer technology courses leading to CCNA, CompTIA A + and CCENT. 

Past Cyberwaka Training Academy students are now technicians, several are in the armed services, and others are enrolled in Polytechnics and Universities furthering their studies.

Te Runanga o Te Whanau by ensuring courses are based on the building blocks of ‘Literacy’ first, then showing how ‘Function’ and ‘Specialisation’ is improved and achieved and enhanced computer literacy.

The function and specialisation content of the courses ensures a student has the right building blocks to progress to a fruitful career.

The curriculum is designed to allow students in remote rural areas to access their work via the Internet using approved ‘Blended Distant Learning.
